The A team is in its essence, a big, loud action flick. It does not make the movie any less fun to watch though.
For those of you who did not watch the original TV series (like me), the A team centers on 4 members of a former commando outfit, Hannibal (Liam Neeson), Face (Bradley Cooper), Murdock (Sharlto Copley) and B.A Baracus (Quinton Jackson) whose dialogue is peppered with catchphrases from his predecessor, Mr T. A job assigned to them during the Iraq war goes wrong and the rest of the movie focuses on their attempts to clear their names.
Of course their attempts are combined with loud massive explosions and shooting others with big, fancy guns in every scene. And boy does everyone look like they are having fun doing so. With the amount of smirks and whooping in the movie, one will forget that these guys are supposed to be fugitives on the run. No moral ambiguity, no convoluted plot and little character development. It is a movie about guys directed by guys and made for guys. All in all, a testosterone fest. But ironically this estrogen charged human being enjoyed it immensely (mainly due to the many shots of a shirtless Bradley Cooper) and the fact that after 2 weeks of law exams, I didn’t need to think or process the movie much.
So summing up, if you are looking for a movie in which to zone out to after a hard day, this one fits the bill.
