Director: Seth MacFarlane
Cast: Seth MacFarlane, Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, Joel McHale, Giovanni Ribisi
Synopsis: A classic love triangle story between a man, John Bennett (Wahlberg), his girlfriend Lori (Kunis), and his overbearing best friend Ted (MacFarlane) who always seems to get between them with his propensity for foul habits. The twist is Ted is John’s childhood teddy bear that is actually alive, and just grown fouler with age.
A little prior to our marriage, Bride of Film Nerd introduced me to the comedy stylings of Seth MacFarlane. More specifically, she introduced me to Family Guy. We now own all seasons currently available for purchase in Australia, and like my bride, I can now call myself quite the expert on Peter, Lois, Stewie, Brian, Meg, Chris, and the Giant Chicken. It is with some excitement then, that we approach the prospect of viewing Ted, the latest product from MacFarlane’s fertile mind.
The trailer certainly gives good indication that Family Guy (and American Dad) fans shall be well catered for by this film. In his first cinematic outing, MacFarlane seems to have created a character that is the perfect foil for his less than politically correct brand of humour. So we are looking forward to some big laughs from this film, especially with the likes of the versatile Wahlberg and much under-rated Kunis (a Family guy alumna herself, being the voice of Meg Griffin). Plus, there is indication that there are a number of star cameos to look forward to, which I am sure will be used to the greatest of comic effect.
Enjoy the trailer below, then go see the film. It is out in Australian cinemas tomorrow!!!
