The Big Bang Theory: Season 4: A Review by Film Nerd

Synopsis: Leonard and Penny are no longer together, but that does not mean the show is by any means coming to a halt in terms of hilarity.   New addition to the main cast Amy Farrah Fowler (Bialik) injects a new level of humour, essentially being the female equivalent of Sheldon.   This leads to not only more fun with the four main guys, but also introduces a very unique female friendship clique.   Things get more interesting yet again with the introduction of Priya (Mann). who is not only Raj’s sister, but also interestingly enough Leonard’s new squeeze.

Synopsis: New comedy areas are mined with not only Leonard being finally in a relationship with Penny, but also with Howard finding a partner in the form of microbiologist Bernadette.   This leaves Raj continuously bemoaning his status as remaining single, whilst Sheldon remains delightfully oblivious to the human condition.

Synopsis: The series that fully embraced geek chic is back, and in what for me is perhaps the most consistently funny season to date.   To begin with, unlike the first season, each character;s idiosyncracies are now well established.   Sheldon’s on campus nemesis, Barry Kripke (Bowie), is introduced.   This is also before all the geeks started getting their own female counterparts, with only Gilbert’s Leslie Winkle providing any of them a glimpse of romantic hope.

Synopsis: A comedy series that primarily follows the adventures and mishaps of two room-mate physicists, the attractive young lady that moves into the apartment across the hall from them, and their friends at the university which they work at.   It embraces the concept of geek chic, and though an obvious exaggeration of reality, in many ways it is not that far from the truth.
